Commission Recapture

In commission recapture programs, the client fund, not the investment manager, receives the credit. This reduces the fund’s effective transaction costs and thus increases the performance of the client fund. The recapture broker can either return the credits to the fund in cash or use the resulting savings to help pay for legitimate expenses on behalf of the fund.
