Securities Lending

Securities Lending, sometimes referred to as Stock Loan, is the practice of lending of securities (stock and bonds) by one party (broker, custodian, client, etc..) to another party for the purpose facilitating a short sale, settling a trade, financing or facilitating a loan for the security. The borrower is obliged to return the securities to the lender either on demand or at the end of any agreed upon term. For the period of the loan, the lender is secured by acceptable assets delivered by the borrower to the lender as collateral.

Securities lending is an integral component to Albert Fried & Company's Prime Brokerage business allowing its institutional clients to access some of the largest stock loan inventory pools and resources available globally.

By proactively growing its sourcing network and assets held under custody, Albert Fried & Company allows its clients to quickly implement strategies that require borrowed securities from these readily available sources.
