Soft-Dollars

When an investment manager trades through a broker, the broker may return a portion of the commission to the account in the form of a soft dollar credit used to pay for specific research and other SEC Section 28(e) compliant services that are used by the manager to benefit the client. These services and research products can be provided either by the broker or a third party.
